Hartshorne Group Shrewsbury have chosen the Shropshire Youth Association (SYA) as their charity of the year. Staff organised a fund-raising evening, with live entertainment donated by up and coming youth band “Tigers Bride” and prizes for the raffle and auction donated by Hartshorne Groups customers.
Over 70 people celebrated the event and raised £1,515.00 Which Hartshorne Group very generously doubled to £3030.00 Under their HCG charitable trust programme.
Colin Organ (Depot manager) said “It was a pleasure to raise this money for such a fantastic cause, it’s humbling to be able to give back to the local community, a great night was had by all”.
Richard Parkes, Chief Executive of SYA thanked Hartshorne Group as they handed over the cheque and said “Our charity supports over 100 voluntary youth groups in Shropshire, ensuring that over 4000 young people get fun and exciting activities in the evenings, which in turn helps them to succeed in life.
we will use this fantastic donation to support our LGBT+ youth groups in Shrewsbury and Telford as well to buy some new equipment which is then loaned out to the clubs to enrich their programme”.
